Just Jazz is a unique, specialized live jazz music agency providing music for corporate events, private parties, and weddings throughout the New York City Metropolitan area.

Just Jazz is composed solely of New York City-based musicians that have performed over the years with many jazz legends, including: Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz, Grover Washington Jr., and Pat Methany, among many, many others.  All of our musicians have received formal music training, most from conservatories such as the Berklee College of Music (in Boston) and Julliard (in New York City), and many teach at music schools and universities in and around the tri-state area. In addition, our musicians have performed at all of the main jazz clubs, restaurants, and hotels in New York City, and are therefore conscientious and always aware of the volume level appropriate for the occasion.     

While there are other agencies that provide jazz music for formal events, Just Jazz musicians are specialists committed to creating the highest quality jazz music at all times.  Because of this devotion to our art form, the music is always delivered with a fresh vitality that you won't find in our competitors' music.

Vinson grew up in a musical family near Washington, D.C., studying classical piano from age seven until switching to the drums when he was 12. He played drums for three years in the All-County Jazz Ensemble during high school and subsequently held the drum chair in the University of Pennsylvania Big Band during college. After graduating from UPENN with a B.A. in Economics, Vinson came to New York City in the early 90's to study music at the Mannes College of Music in Manhattan, where he studied with Marvin "Smitty" Smith (of The Tonight Show Band) and Norm Freeman (of the New York Philharmonic).

He has performed in many clubs in the New York Metropolitan area, including the Blue Note, Smoke, 55 Bar, Cupping Room Cafe, Detour, Kave' Haz, and Trumpets of Montclair, NJ. 

An avid composer, Vinson has also appeared on the Fox music video channel, FX Sound. He teaches privately and was on the staff of the Stanford Jazz Workshop in California from 1999-2001. 

In addition, Vinson has also worked with or played alongside with many of the great musicians in jazz, such as Grover Washington, Jr., Dakota Staton, Clarke Terry, James Williams, Donald Brown, Jamil Nasser, Ron McClure, Bob Mintzer, Mark Turner, Terrel Stafford, Eric Alexander, Jom Rotundi, Joel Frahm, Dena DeRose, and Vincent Herring, and has toured Switzerland with pianist, Harold Mabern, Jr.
